Doing Life Together
Throughout the Bible, community is a major theme. Beginning with His first creation, continuing with Israel and the New Testament Church, God always calls out a people for Himself. We value authentic relationships. These authentic relationships are vital in our journey to become like Jesus. We find true community through authenticity. Webster defines authenticity as, "true to one's own personality, spirit or character." Authenticity, which is closely related to the virtue of honesty, is the fertile soil in which the image of Christ grows within each of us. Community thrives when people are authentic and genuine, yet it is misleading and disingenuous when authenticity is sparse. Our desire is to become a place where everyone finds a place in the family – the community of faith – through involvement in small groups.
Life Groups meet on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Pastor Dave & Julie's home (right next to the church). We meet at the same time as Tribe (youth ministry) and HighPoint (children's ministry) to make it convenient for the whole family to come at the same time to learn how to follow Jesus more closely.
New Life Groups will be birthed on the south side of Reno that will meet on Wednesday evening to make it possible for more people to get involved in a Life Group and still be able to bring the whole family to a ministry that is geared to help each individual grow in their relationship with Jesus. Our vision is to see other Life Groups started all over the city on many different days. Check back often for updates on locations and meeting times.

For the five-year anniversary of Katrina and to aid oil-spill victims, Convoy of Hope recently sent an outreach team and 40,000 pounds of groceries to Louisiana. Outreaches were held on three consecutive nights to serve hundreds of people.

Minister, missions visionary Dan Sheaffer dies
Dr. Dan Sheaffer, the former pastor of Crossroads Cathedral (AG) in Oklahoma City, known for effectively raising millions for AG missions and AG higher education, passed away Thursday.
